ArtaQuest is run by one person: Arash Ashrafnejad, born in Tehran in 1994, who left a PhD in artificial intelligence in Montréal to return to teaching. He helped found Neuromatch Academy, an online school for science, and worked at the Center for Rigor on making science itself more honest. He writes here about why he stopped researching these systems and started teaching instead: an AI is trained to collapse a world of possibilities into its single most likely answer, and the danger he saw was less machines taking over than people quietly letting the machine think for them.
ArtaQuest is the answer he built — a not-for-profit social media for science and education, run by no employer, funder or organisation. Every post is a public Kaggle notebook that has been run, checked in the open against Kaggle's own public record. Nothing is scored or judged, and only the member who brought a notebook here can publish it, from their own inbox — their click plus their device passkey mints the permanent citation link, which credits the notebook's Kaggle author. It stays free to read, and the Foundation runs on donations, with every coin, heart and donation public.
